Combiaty 2021
AOP Brouilly
The “lieu-dit” of Combiaty was first recognized in 1874 by A. Budker in his classification of the Beaujolais terroirs, which is still a reference today. This is where the Château des Tours has its magnificent south-east-facing plot. The soils and subsoil consist of mostly shallow granite. The old Gamay vines remain planted in goblet style, ensuring a very limited production.
A concentrated, smooth, and deep Brouilly.
Expressing black fruit aromas (blackberries and black cherries) alongside mineral notes typical of the shallow granite soils where these old Gamay vines are grown. The palate is generous yet restrained, with a silky tannic structure. A wine of great finesse, with excellent aging potential. Best enjoyed from 2025 onwards.
