This white Beaujolais neatly combines freshness, creaminess and toasty complex in a very well-crafted package and could be mistaken for a village wine from Burgundy. Long, very clean and mineral finish. A single vineyard wine from Les Creuzes that was matured in French oak. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

Thanks to the valance of creaminess and sea shell character , plus the well integrated touch of oak and sliced pear fruit you could easily mistake this for a good Bourgogne Blanc. Very goog harmony at the long silky finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.

The 2022 Beaujolais offers vibrant grapefruit and peach skin notes on the nose. Simple ? Maybe, but effective. The palate is fresh on the entry. There's lovely texture here, with notes on dried pineapple, nectarine and a dash of spice on the finish. Lovely. 

The 2023 Beaujolais Blanc, taken from tank, has a light nose with orchard fruit,the prudent use of oak just lending a bit of weight. The palate also has decent weight - a little honeyed in texture - fine acidity and a touch of passion fruit on the finish that nods toward the Southern Rhône.

Une nouveauté de cette foire aux vins 2024 : un beaujolais blanc 100% chardonnay. Nez floral, touche de fruits exotiques, de pêches, d’ananas au nez, mais également un côté grillé. Bouche équilibrée, relativement ronde. En finale, le fruit persiste et s’accompagne des quelques notes de fruits secs et un léger boisé. Bien joué pour 10,19€ durant la foire aux vins ! Cette cuvée détonne avec ses notes d’abricot et de violette, rappelant le viognier.Le toucher est ample,beurré,avec une finale toastée amenée par le bois. Prêt à boire.

An excellent example of the new chardonnay whites of Beaujolais. Very good substance and textural complexity on the generous, medium-bodied palate. Ample tannins, both from fruit and oak that neatly interlock. Long, bold and balanced finish. Sustainable. From a clay-limestone soil. 40% was matured in 600-liter oak casks, 60% in stainless steel tanks, all with malolactic fermentation. Drink or hold.

A generous wine for a Beaujolais-Villages with a wealth of fresh black-cherry fruit. Quite bold with a lot of charm, but also a healthy tannin base that underlines the juicy and substantial finish. Almost completely whole-cluster fermented, but without the addition of carbon dioxide. Drink or hold

The 2023 Beaujolais Le Perréon has a touch of varnish on the nose that masks the red fruit underneath. The palate is sweet on the entry with gentle grip. It's quite fresh and much more composed on the finish compared to the aromatics.

Issue de vignes de 50 ans, cette cuvée présente une robe noire, des arômes "pâtissiers" de fleurs, de confitures de fruits noirs… Bouche pleine, concentrée, droite, encore dans les startinfs-blocs, mais le vin en a sous le pied…

The 2022 Beaujolais Le Perréon comes from a single plot. This has a delightful nose, very pure and well defined : red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is medium bodied with slightly grainy tannins and dark berry fruit laced with a touch of brine on the finish. I prefer the aromatics to the palate at the moment.

Un classique puisqu’il appartient à la famille Richard, célèbre à Paris pour fournir nombre de cafés. Ils sont multipropriétaires à Bordeaux, dans le Rhône, et dans le Beaujolais où ce Château de Corcelles possède quatre-vingt hectares. Le nez est facile, engageant, tandis que la bouche présente un joli tanin et se révèle assez longue. Un « crowd pleaser », en plus facile à trouver. 13,50 euros

Au cœur des Crus du Beaujolais (près de Morgon), les vignes de ce Domaine nous offrent un Primeur très harmonieux entre fruité, fraîcheur et même une certaine structure. Loin des caricatures de ce type de vin. Prix 7,59 €

Issu de vieilles vignes, ce Primeur Villages se montre davantage structuré que son « petit » frère. On est dans un autre registre. Il pourra accompagner un plat plus consistant (volaille, rôti de bœuf). Prix 7,99 €

Les progrès sont évidents dans ce château, illustrés par cette cuvée aux arômes concentrés de cerises, de fleurs "sucrées" Bouche pleine, charnue, avec un fruité généreux et gourmand.

Brimming with blackberry and blackcurrant aromas, plus delicate floral notes, this rich Brouilly shows understated vitality that beautifully complements the ripeness ans concentration on the generous palate. The the silky finish pulls you back for more. Sustainable . Drink or hold.

This wine is ripe with juicy black fruits along with the tannins.  Is has potential and will be at its best from 2024. 

A complex Brouillly with a striking interplay of forest berry fruits, savory character and crisp acidity. The latter gives it a sleek body in spite of 14 % alcohol. The slightly tart finish pulls the brakes on the rating. Sustainable. Drink or hold. 

Des raisins totalement égrappées et mis à macérer pendant 15 jours ont donné ce vin aux notes de fraise, de framboise et de poivre. Une élégance aromatique en harmonie avec une texture jouant davantage sur la fraicheur et la finesse que sur l'ampleur.  Un vin de plaisir immédiat. 

The 2021 Brouilly Les Roches has a light, slightly green nose that indicates a bit of underripe fruit - expected given the growing season. The palate is better with piquant red fruit and decent weight, though I find this a bit too saccharine on the finish

Juicy berry fruit on the nose, followed by licorice and smoked tea leaves. Mellow and well integrated on the palate with medium body and ripe tannins. Drink now or hold.

The super-fresh aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and cherry leap out of the glass at you. Ripe, yet very sleek, fresh and straight on the palate. You have to like acidity to really go for this one, but we think it works really well at the crisp finish. Sustainable. Drink now.

Plenty of strawberry and wild blackberry fruit here as well as a solid base of moderately dry tannins that anchor the wine and give the finish some positive power. Spice and savory notes add interest at the finish. Filled in teh skittle shaped bottle for which there is a tradition in the region. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

This wine offers good concentration, with ripe tannins and juicy black fruits. Good acidity and succulent character partner with its richness. Drink from 2024.

The 2022 Brouilly Vieilles Vignes has a tightly wound nose that demands coaxing; dark berry fruit, hints of tobacco and a light marine scent reluctantly emerge. The palate is medium bodied withi quite firm tannins and moderate weight. There's a little greenness, just a tincture on the finish that implies a bit of stress in the vineyard. Give it a year in bottle.

The 2022 Fleurie Poncié has a pretty nose, opening nicely in the glass with raspberry, strawberry and pressed rose ptals. The palate is medium bodied with a sapid entry, fresh with an underlying marine influence at play. Cohesive, this Fleurie sashays along nicely toward a finish that begs another sip.

A lively, red-fruited Fleurie, showing spiced cherries, licorice and hints of chocolate orange. Firm and tense, it has medium body with chalky tannins. It’s structured but needs a bit more concentration and length. Appealing now but better in 2026.

The 2023 Fleurie Poncié takes time to open on the nose. It's a little herbaceous but has pretty dark berry and cold tea scents behind that. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins. This is quite marine-influenced with an overly saline, classically styled finish. The 2023 is not for those seeking bags of fruit, but it is well made.

There is a charming juiciness to its ripe cherries and currants, as well as spices and flowers, yet the palate feels a bit thin and fluid with medium body and modest length. Drink now.

The 2023 Morgon Château de Corcelles has a simple nose with touches of brambly red fruit and brown spice. It does not have the vigor of the previous vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins but misses a bit of fluidity and depth on the finish. Drink this over the next three or four years.

The 2022 Morgon definitely has one of the superior aromatic profiles from Château de Corcelles, well-defined with crisp black cherry and bilberry fruit. The palate is medium bodied with pliant tannins, good fruit concentration and just the right amount of quote bite toward the finish. This is a finely made Morgon note spectacular but you will contentedly polish off your glass.
