Cuvée des Cadettes 2018
The Cuvée des Cadettes is an entire story!
Indeed, it was the first plot replanted after the phylloxera aphid ravaged millions of hectares of vines. We owe this first plantation to Joseph Ducos, the estate’s owner, in the nineteenth century. Since then, the Cuvée des Cadettes has been made with the best grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre grapes expressing this unique terroir – elegant, intense, sophisticated, and well-balanced. To be enjoyed with wild game, aged meats, and other dishes as rare and complex as this wine.
Purple color with shimmering hints. Lots of aromas on the nose: wild blackberries, ripe cherries along with vanilla and dried -owers notes. Rich and opulent on the palate, this wine is impressive, it delivers -avors of jammy red berries, sweet spices (cinnamon) with some herbal touches (men-thol). It is highly concentrate and a little smoky. The nish is long with solid but ne tannins. A great wine to keep a decade or more!
